(Yahoo!) - Quinton Aaron, who starred with Sandra Bullock in the 2009 film "The Blind Side," was recently flying to Rochester, N.Y., for a job when he was asked to get off a US Airways plane. The hour-long connecting flight he was scheduled to take didn't have first class, and because he didn't fit well in the single coach seat and he was escorted off. The 6'8"550 lb. actor had to wait an hour and a half for the next flight. "The Insider" correspondent Michael Yo spoke to Quinton about what happened.
"It's an embarrassing situation, but for me, I wasn't so much embarrassed. It's not like I can hide my weight" said Quinton. "It's one of those things that if I notice [my weight], I'd be a fool to think no one else did."
The 29-year-old actor doesn't agree with the way the airline dealt with his situation.
"There's definitely different ways it could have been handled. Looking at their roster, I didn't have two seats purchased. They could have told me before I got on the plane what it was going to be."
Quinton told "The Insider" what the flight attendant gave him as a reason why he wasn't permitted to stay on the flight.
"According to TSA guidelines, every person is supposed to fit into the seat … and wear the seatbelt," the actor said. "At the end of the day, there could have been arrangements made."
"The Blind Side" star is also accusing the airline of leaking the story to the press.
"I am bitter towards the airline because I feel like it was someone in the airline that posted the whole thing to begin with. I didn't make any contact with anybody on the plane except for the guy sitting next to me; other than that, no one else. I feel like the airline posted it. They knew my name; they clearly knew who I was."
"The Insider With Yahoo" contacted US Airways for a comment about Quinton's accusation, and the airline said, "We have a firm policy to not disclose any personal information regarding our passengers. We appreciate [Quinton's] understanding of the comfort of his fellow passengers and for their safety last week, and we have been in touch with Mr. Aaron’s agent."
