Co-Owner of Daniella's Steakhouse And CP Romans Nightclub Dies

Renee Denise Epps, 47, of Cicero, passed away Wednesday at home. She was born July 7, 1965 in Wiesbaden, Germany to Bill and Diane Epps and was the middle child, sandwiched in between her sister, Cheryl and baby brother, Steven. Raised in Syracuse, Renee was a graduate of Henninger High School. A figure skating professional, Renee started skating at the age of 8 in her backyard on a rink that her Dad built. She was an accomplished coach, helping her students achieve their dreams from beginning skater to USA Gold Medalists. Renee mentored students, coaches and parents alike, proudly bearing the license plate, SK8PRO. In addition to her career in skating, Renee was an owner of Daniella's Steakhouse along with her husband, Charlie Roman, creating the signature desserts served in the restaurant.

Renee was also the owner and operator of C.P. Romans nightclub in Alexandria Bay, NY, where she enjoyed her river family and friend and spending time on the St. Lawrence River. Larger than life, Renee was the first person to jump in when someone was in need, organizing many benefits for her loved ones. An accomplished hostess, interior designer and creator of stylish Christmas designs, she will be missed by many.

She was predeceased by her loving mother, Diane Epps in 2003. Renee is survived by the love of her life, Charlie Roman; her father, Bill and stepmother, Linda; her sister, Cheryl (Jim) Lynch; her brother, Steven (Linda) Epps; nieces and nephews, Jamie (Chris) Goodfellow, Brian Lynch, Steven Epps Jr., Johnathon Epps and Nicole Epps; great-nephew, Landon Goodfellow; aunt Linda Simiele, uncles and cousins as well as a huge family of dear friends and skating children.

A funeral mass in celebration of Renee's life will be held on Monday at 9:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
