It's now illegal to sell door-to-door in Syracuse after 6 pm.
The Syracuse Common Council voted unanimously to ban door-to-door selling in residential neighborhoods between 6 pm and 10am. Councilor Chad Ryan, who just took office in January, proposed the ordinance. He says he heard complaints about knocks on their doors early in the morning and late at night. The city previously allowed peddlers to operate between 8 am and 9 pm.
