Driver was high when he killed a man at the side of 690

Syracuse, N.Y. – Police have arrested a man that they say was high marijuana, cocaine, and heroin when he caused a fatal three car accident earlier this month.

36-year-old Paul Drake’s vehicle was disabled on the side of 690, when Ryan Dearnaley, 27, pulled over to help him. While the men were at the side of the eastbound lane police officers claim Daniel Wall, 33, crashed his Mercury Mountaineer into the men.

All three men were taken to Upstate Hospital where Dearnaley died of his injuries.

Wall is charged with vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, driving while ability impaired by drugs, drug possession and an assortment of other traffic violations.

Wall’s bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. He will be back in court on Tuesday.
