(570 WSYR) A former Onondaga county parks employee will spend 3-and-a-half years in prison for several sentences handed down Tuesday for the theft of parks equipment and for menacing a police officer. 58 year old Arcadia Figueroa pled guilty in July to burglary, but the menacing charge followed an incident in May, when he was shot by a deputy at his home. A handcuffed Figueroa had been accompanied to his residence by deputies to retrieve some stolen Parks Department property. When he went to his bedroom to feed his ferrets, deputies say Figueroa pulled a shotgun from under a mattress, held it to his chin and told a deputy to kill him. Figueroa was shot in the stomach and thigh.
