Onondaga County Sheriffs Dpeuties have arrested a homeless man after police say he robbed the Byrne Dairy Store on Brewerton Road Tuesday morning.
Deputies say 48 year old Brian Maines walked into Byrne Dairy at about one o'clock Tuesday morning and threatened the cashier with a wooden billy-club and demanded money from the cash register.
Maines fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was quickly located by Deputy Alvin Williams in a nearby neighborhood. After a short foot pursuit, Deputy Williams was able to apprehend Maines.
Maines has now been charged with Felony Robbery in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.
He was arraigned in Town of Salina Court and is being held in the Justice Center without bail. Deputies say no one inside the convenience store was hurt.
