Miss America officials say the demand for interviews with current winner and Fayetteville native Nina Davuluri is unprecedented.
The organization says media and appearance requests for Nina, particularly from India, exceed any previous Miss America winner. Officials say they will probably send her to India sometime in the near future. Nina is the first Indian-American to win the title, and pageant officials believe it's what's driving this frenzy for coverage. They also say they believe that the intense interest in India is because she has become a role model for women there.
