Syracuse's Inner Harbor has just gotten a big shot in the arm.
Governor Andrew Cuomo was in town Thursday morning to announce the construction of a fourt story, 130 room hotel at the Inner Harbor, which will be the first step in transforming 32 acres at the harbor.
Starwood Hotels and resorts plans to build an Aloft Hotel on the site, at a cost of 18 million dollars. Aloft is a hotel brand name that Sheraton introduced two years ago. The hotel will cost 18 million dollars to build.
COR Development of Fayetteville also has other plans for the site too. They plan to build other retail outlets, a community boathouse and townhouses as part of the project.
COR's project has been infused with about three million dollars in state money and will transform the harbor within ten years.
