A coalition of local community organizations are working together to encourage Central New York residents to go solar.
The Solarize Syracuse campaign says they are working to get people in the city of Syracuse and the towns of Dewitt and Manlius interested in solar energy for residential and commercial locations. They say they know some people in Central New York think solar won't work here. They claim that Germany leads the world in solar energy production, and Upstate New York has more sun than they do.
They plan to hold nine workshops to explain how their program works. You can get a complete list of the workshop locations and more information about the program by visiting the Solarize Syracuse website.
