Phoenix Police Say Thieves Targeting Unlocked Vehicles

Police in Phoenix say car prowlers are targeting unlocked vehicles there, taking a variety of valuables.

Officers say that items like money, lottery tickets, GPS devices, cameras, and laptops have been stolen recently. They say the thieves are not targeting any one neighborhood, but the entire village. Police Chief Marty Nerber says that the public needs to do its part by removing valuables from their vehicles and make sure they are locked. And the chief speculates that the thieves are probably teenagers, so parents should be sure they know where their kids are between 11 pm and midnight, when the thefts are occurring.
