Rome Man Injured In Accidental Shooting

State Police say a Rome man has been accidentally shot while hunting in a wooded area near Boonville.

20 year old Marc Donahue was attempting to attach his rifle to a rope in order to hoist it up to a tree stand. The rope was hanging about six feet off the ground, and when Donahue reached up and started to attach the rifle to the rope, one round was discharged into his leg.

The rifle was loaded with four rounds and he did not have the safety mechanism on at the time of the incident.

Donahue was transported by Mercy Flight to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse where he's listed in stable condition.
