The Syracuse Common Council will hold a hearing tonight to get public feedback on the Interstate 81 viaduct project.
The aging stretch of highway running through the city will need to be replaced in a few years. Local and state transportation leaders have held several information sessions on options available, such as demolishing it and rerouting traffic to 481, or replacing it with a more modern design. The Common Council says it has no official say on the final project, but it would like to see where residents stand before putting its support behind one of the options. The meeting is at 4PM today inside Council Chambers.
