An educational film about fire prevention that was presented to some preschool kids by the Utica Fire Department featured a different and unexpected kind of education.
Sources say the video, which was shown during Fire Prevention Week late last year, contained some pornographic material. It was reportedly covered up immediately, but it raised questions as to how that got into something like this.
Utica Fire Chief Russell Brooks definitely knows about it, and says it was determined that a firefighter or civilian tampered with the movies or cameras used for preschool children. Brooks says he believes the incident was minimal and children weren't really exposed to pornography, but the camera was tampered with and there's an ongoing investigation regarding it.
